SMART Board Workshops

What is a SMART Board? An interactive whiteboard that improves the way you meet, teach, train and present. It combines the look and feel of a regular whiteboard with the power of a computer. When combined with a projector, the SMART Board becomes a large, touch-sensitive screen. The purpose of this demonstration is to show the powerful technology of the SMART Board to enhance lessons, motivate learners, increase interaction, encourage involvement of your students in the subject and increase student achievement. Come learn how to use this new technology tool in your classroom or in the lab. Your students will love it and you will, too!

This full-day, in-depth beginner session is designed to help you master your SMART products. The session is for Windows users and offers hands-on practice and discussions about integrating SMART products into your classroom.

Discussions about advanced product features
Interactive, hands-on activities that provide a chance to apply your new skills

Materials

Participants will receive a copy of SMART's Learner Workbook, which includes reference material, step-by-step activities and quizzes. This workbook is used during the session and is ideal for future reference.

Class Size

Each session is designed to accommodate a maximum of 10 participants, in order to maintain a hands-on, interactive learning environment.

GoObserve Training Sessions for the Palm OS

SuccessLink Conference Room - Jefferson City - 10:00 am to Noon

GoObserve provides observation scheduling through your desktop computer. After you synchronize your handheld, the observations are automatically added to your calendar. When in a classroom, the handheld component of GoObserve allows you to seamlessly "script" activities. Using categorization and time-stamping features, you can record, minute-by-minute, how teachers are doing and if students are engaged.

If you are new to handhelds we are also offering a 1 hour basic handheld training for $25 starting at 8:30am before the GoObserve training.

Equipment:

Each participant who is signed up will need to bring a laptop and a Palm handheld computer with the following requirements:

Windows 98 or higher, all windows updates loaded including microsoft.net frameworks
This laptop must have Microsoft Office 2000 or higher
Palm Desktop software installed, unless you are purchasing a handheld from us, and you must have performed a successful hotsync operation.
Palm handheld with Palm OS 4.0 or newer

If you are purchasing a handheld from our office, we will make sure it is fully charged for you. You will need to be at the training a half hour early with your laptop to download the software for the palm desktop.
