SuccessLink was created in October, 1996 by a coalition of the Missouri Association of School Administrators, and the Missouri Assocation of Elementary principals (MCSA). MCSA was the fiscal agent for SuccessLink from 1996 until 2001.

SuccessLink was incorporated as a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization in January of 2001. It is a fully-independent organization with a board of directors and by-laws to govern their actions.
