Great Teaching Ideas Graduate Credit Courses
Graduate Credit:
Graduate Credits are available with Northwest Missouri State University. Teachers receive one, two or three hours of graduate credit for $75 per credit hour. One of the two 3-hour courses emphasizes technology integrated with classroom instruction.
Teachers are encouraged to submit lessons and units used in their own classrooms. Subject matter is very flexible. These courses are available to any certificated teacher. You will be required to supply a transcript to NWMSU at Maryville, MO.
Coursework is to be submitted using the SuccessLink on-line submission form to the Adjunct Instructor, Amy Youngblood, at SuccessLink. A letter grade is sent to NWMSU.
To request information for a Great Teaching Ideas course, call toll free 888-636-4395 or e-mail gforman@successlink.org . A packet including the NWMSU application, course syllabus, log, and other information must be mailed to you before you begin.
For the one-hour Great Teaching Ideas course, teachers spend 18 clock hours on the following:
- performance-based lessons/units with a clear implementation plan
- scoring guides/rubrics/other assessments and student results from this lesson
- all components listed in the syllabus
- time log, short self-reflection paper, and course evaluation in the graduate packet
NOTE:
Prior to enrolling in any of the courses, all participants must contact Amy Youngblood, Adjunct Instructor, at SuccessLink in Jefferson City, MO.to ensure you understand the process. You must declare the content area and grade level you will be using for the lessons, units or modules. Courses are completed on-line. Communication with the instructor is mainly via e-mail. Grades will only be available on-line.
